Australia vs. New Zealand: The Chappell-Hadlee series, a three-match ODI series featuring two elite sides, is about to get underway. All three one-day matches will be played in Far North Queensland in the post-pandemic era. The start of this series, which was announced and hotly debated right before COVID struck and put the entire planet into lockdown, has been eagerly anticipated by the entire world. The first game of the 2020 series was played at the Sydney Cricket Ground behind closed doors before team New Zealand left and the gates quickly closed.
The cricket boards of Australia and New Zealand made a lot of effort to have this series happen in 2021 and 2022, but because of the Pandemic's severe impacts and quarantine regulations, logistical and transport issues prevented it from happening. However, it is finally time to stop the wait and begin the much-anticipated series. Team Australia has named their World T20I roster, but for some inexplicable reasons, they have played more ODIs than T20Is. The Australian team, led by Aaron Finch, is the reigning champion and will undoubtedly aim to test themselves before this prestigious competition.
The ODI series' schedule
ODI debut: September 6, 2022
Two-ODI date: September 8, 2022
September 11, 2022, Third ODI
Dream11 Prediction: Fantasy Tips For 1st ODI Match
Australia will welcome New Zealand for a three-match ODI series beginning on Tuesday, just a few days after finishing their three-match ODI series against Zimbabwe. The Cazalys Cricket Stadium in Cairns will host all 3 games of this season's Chappell-Haddle series.
Australia's latest 50-over assignment will start just two days after the team's three-match ODI series against Zimbabwe in Townsville concludes when the Aaron Finch-captained team takes on arch-rivals New Zealand. The most recent Chappell-Hadlee Trophy competition will consist of three games.
This will be the first 50-over encounter between the two teams since a three-match series that was scheduled to begin in March 2020 but was abandoned after just one game due to the COVID-19 pandemic. In fact, the opening game of the series between the two teams on March 13, 2020, at the Sydney Cricket Ground served as the final international cricket match for nearly four months due to a global lockdown.
Australia entered the series with a series victory against relative unknowns Zimbabwe, but on Tuesday they were defeated in what is considered to be one of the biggest upsets in ODI cricket in the 21st century. Last month, New Zealand won a historic ODI series against the West Indies.
Both teams are nearly at full strength, although Australia's Test captain Pat Cummins will be absent because he was given a break. Travis Head is not now a member of the squad because his partner just gave birth to their first child. After missing the last two ODIs against the West Indies, Kane Williamson is back to captain the Black Caps.
The Cazalys Cricket Stadium in Cairns will host all three games of the series. After 19 years, the location is holding both international and ODI cricket. Here, two test matches were played in 2003 and 2004, respectively.
